It’s a huge, wildly popular genre, it’s just not my typical genre. I’m not big into stories with lots of graphic sex, and you do get that here. This isn’t the kind of book I usually gravitate toward. I’m going to admit right off the bat, this is not my typical read. As she struggles to sow the seeds of her freedom, love for the God of the Dead grows-and it’s forbidden. The bet does more than expose Persephone’s failure as a goddess, however. Their love story has been in my top five romances of all time! I just love it, and am glad I was reminded of how much I adored it by reading this novella! If you are a reader that has never read "Transcendence" then I strongly suggest giving it a go! You will either absolutely fall in love with it, or you won't like it or all.As for myself.I will always hold this story in my heart that is reserved for the extra special romance stories! I haven't read the book in more than a few years though, and so for me this was an enjoyable reminder of why I fell in love with Ehd and Beh in the first place!įor me, I really liked going back in time and reminiscing about the endearing couple. ![]() I will say that I probably wouldn't have enjoyed this as much if I had read the first book recently. With this novella, we get a glimpse into some of the memorable scenes between the two but in Beth's POV. I might add that Ehd could not communicate verbally, so they learned other ways to understand each other!!! LOL Luckily, Ehd found her and they had a very unique journey falling into love with one another. Most readers have heard of the beloved couple that met when Beth ended up travelling back in time to the days of Cavemen. ![]() ![]() ![]() This short novella was a wonderful treat for me this holiday season! I like the fact that the writer is not shy in bringing out the truth of people and the in-depth way it is done in your face this is how it was. ![]() The story is well done the narrator is great on all the different types of peoples voices she has to do. Harsh words despicable people and deep rooted heart loving people who have to hide because of the time period. I personally grew up reading detective books and listening to radio shows and the this book did bring back a lot of that vibe. The people she sees and meets also struggle with there own life’s and rules of the game in corporate sales and getting up in the world. The MC is a former Marine and now a LAPD Detective going through her life doing her job as efficiently and precisely as possible. The book is set in the 80’s aids epidemic the Regan years and a people who want to be themselves. But if you know history or the time period the book was written you then know what it was like during that time. ![]() I know this time period I lived it grew up in it and the book may seem to others filled with a hate for many types of people.
